About the Course

This course provides a comprehensive review of current salivary diagnostic tests, encompassing sample collection methodologies, analytical testing procedures, and result reporting formats. It facilitates critical evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses inherent to each commercially available test. Additionally, the course features an interactive workshop dedicated to the examination of testing reports, interpretation of results, and deliberation upon actionable strategies for enhancing clinical outcomes.

Meet Your Instructor, Dr. Emily Stein
Emily Stein, Ph.D. is co-founder and CEO of Primal Health LLC, a company aiming to improve human and animal health with a focus on addressing the root cause of biofilm-related oral diseases so we can love our pets and people longer. She completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Immunology & Rheumatology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she studied the role of the neuroendocrine-immune axis in rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. She earned her PhD in Microbiology from the University of California at Berkeley where she studied bacterial signaling pathways involved in nutrient sensing and stress response pathways in bacteria and biofilm development. Dr. Stein received a B.A. in Anthropology and a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Iowa where she studied the interaction between M. tuberculosis and the innate immune system.
