A Smarter Framework for Treating Biofilm and Inflammation

Identify when antioxidant therapy will more successful for patient homecare.

About the Course

Reducing chronic infectious burdens on the immune system has always been important in healthcare, and dentistry is no different. Oral infections like those associated with gum disease place a chronic low-grade burden on the immune system, and treatment for gum disease has been associated with improvements in systemic health outcomes. You can treat active gingival infections with long-term success using adjunctive prescription tray delivery of hydrogen peroxide gel deep into periodontal pockets. Research shows that this delivery combined with SRP leads to more significant pocket depth and bleeding reductions than SRP alone (www.perioprotect.com/research). Perio Tray therapy also makes your restorative work better and your practices significantly more successful. Attend this presentation to learn the science behind the delivery, case presentation ideas, and everyday business calculations. You will also learn about antioxidant therapy for acute inflammation and inflammation that is not induced by bacterial infections.

Meet Your Instructor, Tanya Dunlap, PhD

Tanya Dunlap, PhD is a Vice President at Perio Protect, where she has worked since 2005. For several years she served as the research liaison for the company, working with researchers who tested Perio Tray® therapy in controlled clinical trials and microbiology studies. Her expertise on this adjunctive periodontal therapy is grounded in the data, explaining how the prescription trays work, and which patient candidates can benefit from them.
